The series ‘The Outside is Inside consists of a series of photographs, based upon over 60 individual interviews and surveys conducted over a 3 month period from July-September 2010.  The sites pictured include spaces of threat and refuge, particular to the local environment of the Ennis area. The project which was supported by a research grant from Create, was an exploration of how womens expeience of physical being within space, forms subjectivity and is directly influenced by the threat of violence. A series of short texts are shown alongside some of the images during exhibition and are a collation of perceptions, memories and associations brought together as one speaking subject. Part of this series was first exhibited in a solo show at The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon in July 2011.
